Day to Night

To be honest, our household doesn't have many overnight guests, because most of our friends live nearby. However, once in a while, we do have overseas guests/family stay with us, and of course we love to prepare for those once a year special occasions. Again, space is precious in a city dwelling , just because we live in a more compact space doesn't mean we can't live happily and fulfilled. You may ask, why not use an air mattress? Personally, I find it less comfortable and more cumbersome to inflate and deflate each day. Besides the squeaky noise air mattresses make every time one turns, they are also made out of plastic. That's why I ventured out to discover other more eye pleasing and physically comfortable alternatives. I hope the choices I picked here will inspire you for your design decisions in the future.

His name is Palo

Hem’s “Palo” modular 2-seater by far is one of the most comfortable and handsome sofas I have sat on. The fabric is soft yet durable, the upholstered foam cushion provides a perfect balance of support and comfort. The arm rest is designed to be easily removable for customization. Even though this sofa was not designed specifically as a sleeper bed, it doubles as one with elegance and style.

Sleeper gone Sleek

Sleek, Modern, Comfortable, Sleeper for 2. Worthy enough to show off in your main living space. Comfortable enough that you feel proud to host a sleepover. Or just indulge yourself for an afternoon nap at this extra deep seat design. We never judge!

Cozy Comfort

“Innovation” is a Danish furniture company which produces some of the more beautiful sofa beds out there. It has the “Sleeper gone Sleek” fit for a modern sleek living room, and works well if you prefer a slightly cozier, softer mood.

Couch Surfing Ready

For the city dwellers who love hosting overnight guests, Gus’s Rialto may just be the right solution for you. A traditional pull out sleeper sofa equipped with memory foam mattress, and sprinkled with modern details: rounded corners, solid wooden dowel legs, & durable fabric.

Inside Out

Here is another smart design by Bludot. The sofa is designed like a hinged door, once the back cushions are removed, you can easily flip it open and turn it into a full size bed. I’d probably add a mattress pad for extra comfort.

Futon-combine.jpg

Boho Charm

A love seat, a day bed or a single bed. A futon beautiful enough for the main living room. Simple, uncomplicated and clever design make small space living feel a lot larger.

Check out the Company website for more design and sizes.

Ground Connection

This Japanese inspired futon bed works great for your multipurpose room such as home office, meditation room, yoga room and even children’s bedroom. That’s because the cloud-like design has no hard edges and is soft to the touch, while its low to floor design keeps us closer to the ground for reconnection.
